Career Awareness Tool: ‘America’s Happiest Workplaces’
A report released by the job information site CareerBliss provides a list of ‘America’s Happiest Workplaces.’
The rankings are based on more than 100,000 worker-generated reviews in which employees rate their workplaces according to:
- work-life balance
- relationships with bosses and co-workers
- compensation
- growth opportunities
- the company’s culture
- the opportunity for employees to have control over their daily work flow.
This type of report is a very useful tool for teaching kids about careers and how they can become aware of what is important when considering their options.
They should understand what each of these career components is, how they can be researched to affect career planning and how to ask questions about all of them during a job interview.
Students can also use these concepts for self-assessment.
What are their priorities? Dreams? Needs? And ‘non-negotiables’ when it comes to the career and lifestyle they envision for themselves?
Knowing what you want out of life when you still have the flexibility to make a wide variety of choices is very Careerwise.
